I took a storyboard test for Fox last week and doodled these in the midst of it all. I can only draw one style for so long before I have to sketch some girls I guess. Hope you dig!

btw....Had an amazing quick trip to Comicon Saturday. So many inspiring artists! It's creative overload, but I love it. I made my first ashcan and gave it as a gift to many of the artists that inspire me. I'm going to try and put together a real book for next year. BIG goal, but I think I can do it.

#51 Evil Dead 4 Tribute Sketch

I am huge fan of the Evil Dead films. They feel very near and dear to my heart. My father (Bart Pierce) did the the SFX for the first Evil Dead....some of which he worked on in the basement of the house I grew up in. If it weren't for all those crazy inspired young punk filmmakers, I may not be making my own films today. I wouldn't be going back to Traverse City in a couple weeks to show my movie at a Festival. I might not even be drawing or animating.

 So when I heard they were making a new Evil Dead the other day I decided to do a tribute drawing. I know it's a remake, but all the same. I wish them the very best!

...Some actor is going to have big shoes to fill.

More quick doodles tonight with a side of sloppy color. Still trying to learn how to paint/color my sketches. Having lots of fun playing around.

By the way, I should mention that my ZOMBIE FILM "DeadHeads made it into 3 more film festivals. It's playing at Michael Moore's Traverse City Fest, Freight Fest in London, and Albuquerque.

Still on a kick for redesigning my favorite heroes. I was going for the younger more animated spiderman. I would simplify stuff a bit if this were for actual animation, but I like these proportions.

What to do next??...hmm.

Batman Redesign

Had fun doing some batman redesigns tonight. It's always a fun challenge to draw those staples that have been done a thousand times. I might try and clean these up later, but I want to sit on them for a night and get a fresh pair of eyes on them tomorrow.  I'm such a huge fan of the animated series and other Bruce Timm versions he did for warner over the years. It's hard to even take it another direction, but I decided to try and push the contrast of shapes a bit for practice sake.

Who's ready for Anne Hathaway in a Catwoman getup??....I am.  I might have to do some catwoman sketching tomorrow.

Doodled a little bit today. Here's one of the pages.  I'm in a crazy drawing mode this past week. Been doing lots of boarding lately, but I've found time to do some personal stuff. I just may try and post everyday starting soon.... Like all the cool kids do.
